Associated Events | ACM ITiCSE 2011 - June 27-29, 2011, Darmstadt, Germany

The following events take place close to ITiCSE 2011, both regarding time and place. You might be interested in attending one or more of them, as well...:

  1. Computer Science Education Research Conference (CSERC '11), April 7 - 8, 2011, held in Heerlen, the Netherlands.
  2. WCCCE11, the Western Canadian Conference on Computing Education, May 6-7, 2011, held at the University of Northern British Columbia. This conference also has an "in-cooperation" status with ACM, and a submission deadline of April 4, 2011. If we had to reject your paper, you might want to consider submitting it here after incorporating our reviewer comments!
  3. PVW 2011, the 6th Program Visualization Workshop, June 30-July 1, 2011, held at the TU Darmstadt directly following ITiCSE 2011. If you are interested in learning about the state of art in algorithm, program, and software visualization, plan to add the two days to your visit to ITiCSE 2011!

Not centered on research, but potentially still of much interest to some attendees:

  • The Heinerfest is the central event or party in downtown Darmstadt. It will start on June 30 and thus directly following the conference, with many small stalls all around the central downtown area next to the city castle and the conference center. (Note that this is not a gigantic fair, but still most people of Darmstadt manage to visit it!)
  • The 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, the equivalent of the Men's World Soccer Cup, start on June 26 - on the eve of ITiCSE 2011! This tournament is held in Germany, the home of the World Champion since 2003. Our women won the last world cup conceding a single goal in the complete tournament - and will have their first match in Frankfurt, "just around the corner" (20 miles) from Darmstadt on the Thursday night following ITiCSE 2011.
